On September 8, 2026, a scientific and technical seminar was held at the Academician U.A. Joldasbekov Institute of Mechanics and Engineering (JIME) as part of the Fundamental Scientific Research Program.
The event focused on discussing current scientific research in the fields of mechanics, mathematical modeling, modern measurement technologies, and materials science.
During the seminar, three scientific presentations were delivered, covering various areas of fundamental and applied research conducted by the Institute’s scientists.
The first presentation, entitled “Application of Multidimensional Mathematics to Problems in Fluid and Gas Mechanics, Celestial Mechanics, and the Theory of Elasticity,” was delivered by Mars Bekkaliyevich Gabbasov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The presentation examined the potential application of multidimensional mathematical methods to problems in fluid and gas mechanics, celestial mechanics, and the theory of elasticity. Particular attention was paid to mathematical approaches that enable the study of complex mechanical processes.
The presentation entitled “Optimization of Fiber-Optic Sensor Parameters to Improve Strain Measurement Accuracy” was delivered by Nurzhigit Kuralbayevich Smailov, PhD, Associate Professor.

The report presented the results of research aimed at optimizing the parameters of a fiber-optic sensor to improve the accuracy of strain measurements. The potential of such technologies for addressing modern challenges in structural measurement and condition monitoring was also highlighted.
The third presentation, entitled “Problems and Prospects of 3D Printing Technologies Using Bitumen-Based Composite Materials,” was delivered by Alibek Talgatbekovich Khabiyev, PhD.

The presentation addressed current issues related to the application of additive manufacturing technologies in the production of products made from bitumen-based composite materials. Particular attention was paid to existing challenges, technological aspects, and the prospects for further development of this field.
The seminar was chaired by Amandyk Kuatovich Tuleshov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Engineering Academy, and Scientific Advisor to JIME.
The presentations generated considerable interest among the seminar participants and provided a basis for professional discussion of topical issues in modern mechanics, measurement technologies, and advanced materials.
The organization of such scientific and technical seminars contributes to the exchange of scientific findings, the development of interdisciplinary collaboration, and the further advancement of fundamental and applied research conducted at the Institute.
