On March 26, 2026, Joldasbekov Institute of Mechanics and Engineering (JIME) hosted a scientific and technical seminar on “Research in the mechanics of road structures and materials”, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bagdat Burkhanbayuly Teltayev.
The event brought together leading scientists, researchers and specialists in the field of road construction, mechanics of materials and engineering infrastructure. The seminar presented the results of modern scientific research aimed at improving the reliability and durability of highways, as well as the development of theoretical and applied aspects of the mechanics of road structures.
The seminar program included number of informative reports:
- «Research in the mechanics of road structures and materials” (speaker: Teltaev Bagdat Burkhanbayuly, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher);
- «Monitoring of the hydrothermal conditions of road clothes and road surface” (speaker: Yerbol Esengalievich Aitbayev, PhD, Leading Researcher);
- «Fifteen years of collaborative research on pavement materials: key developments and outcomes» (Cesare Oliviero Rossi , Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies, University of Calabria, Italy);
- «Investigation of thermomechanical characteristics of single-layer plates under the influence of temperature and heat exchange” (speaker: Tashev Azat Aripovich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Leading Researcher).
The seminar focused on the introduction of innovative technologies and interdisciplinary approach to the study of road structures. The participants noted the importance of integrating fundamental research and practical developments to solve urgent problems of transport infrastructure.
The seminar was an important event for the scientific community and allowed not only to discuss latest results, but also to identify promising areas for further research.
