On September 23–24, 2026, the International Scientific and Technical Conference “Current Problems of Transport, Mechanics and Materials Science” was held in Almaty. The conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Bagdat Burkhanbayuly Teltayev, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor.
The conference was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the International Academy of Transport, the Interstate Council of Road Engineers of the CIS, Mukhametzhan Tynyshpayev ALT University, the Academician Joldasbekov Institute of Mechanics and Engineering, the Institute of Transport Sciences and Technologies, the National Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the Kazakhstan Geotechnical Association, and the Road Research and Production Center.
The event was held in a hybrid format, bringing together participants both in person and online. The main objective of the conference was to discuss current scientific and scientific-technical issues in the fields of transport, mechanics, geotechnics, and materials science, as well as to facilitate the exchange of research findings and expertise among scientists, specialists, and representatives of scientific and educational organizations.

- Metro, Maritime and Pipeline Transport
- Mechanics of Deformable Solids
- Geomechanics and Geotechnics
- Fluid and Gas Mechanics
- Theory of Machines and Mechanisms, Robotics

The broad scope of the sections covered key areas of modern transport science and mechanics, ranging from the development of various modes of transport and transport infrastructure to fundamental and applied research in mechanics, geomechanics, robotics, and advanced materials.
The conference was of particular significance as it was held in honor of the 60th anniversary of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bagdat Burkhanbaiuly Teltayev. The anniversary provided an important occasion to discuss the scientist’s contribution to research and the development of scientific fields related to transport, mechanics, and engineering technologies.
The participation of the Academician Joldasbekov Institute of Mechanics and Engineering in the organization and conduction of the conference contributed to strengthening scientific cooperation with national and international organizations, as well as development of collaboration among specialists in the fields of mechanics, transport, and engineering sciences.
